In 2007 I started painting again, after a pause of over 20 years.
Using oil paint I work on portraits, still lifes and urban landscapes.
I am academically trained and paint in the tradition of the old masters. Sources of inspiration are painters like Rembrandt and Toulouse Lautrec as well as Alberto Giacometti, Francis Bacon and Lucien Freud.
I prefer painting portraits. While painting you start to see the subject better and better. You start to see the person behind the surface.
